I found Ribena in SF! I brought it to make Cider and Black with my future housemates – tasty. But, a British Bartender once told me: “Cider is for rural farmers and tramps.” Ye Be Warned.
Cider and Black
1 Pint of Cider (I like Strong Bow – any dry apple cider will do)
1 Shot of Ribena*
Pour Ribena into Pint Glass followed by 1 Pint of Cider
If you want… The British Grocery located 726 15th st. in San Francisco 10AM-5:30PM Tuesday-Saturday. It’s expensive, 1 liter set me back $13.25.
*You could substitute with other blackcurrant juices… But that is a) not very British of you and b) an effort cop out.

This blog is now reset… Think of it as a car that’s gone over 1 million miles – it’s a fresh start!
Today I cycled a 14 mile circuit checking out places to live (from 6pm to 9:30pm!)). One in NOPA, one in the Mission and one in North Beach/Russian Hill. Then, I rode back to temporary home base and cooked a 15 bean soup with sausage.
Waiting for the North Beach people, I met a guy named Ma’ – his English wasn’t so good, and my mandarin leaves communication to be desired. He currently thinks my name is: “Ispaul” – He could be my downstairs neighbor.
Tomorrow brings lots of machining at work, then I’m going to check out another place with a view of Golden Gate Park : ) Maybe I’ll make quesadillas to go with leftover soup tomorrow…
